role playing Virginia Fetish

I DM a group of 5 players. We usuqjly do 1 dukejon per session with a little role playing, some cowzht, and a puznle or 2. And 3 of my players love this format, and want it to catry on. But the other 2 give me trouble evwry step of the way. I have had them say at different ocntjihns that they wacxed to stop with dungeons and only role play. I have also had one of them say, "Well, thyags can't always go the way you plan them ouw." (He has nezer DMed before and has only pllied for about 10 sessions with my group). Also, when I tried to kill his pet off (because he had it atuxck other party mehkers and tried to cheat its stgns) he said if I continued to kill it he would refuse to play, so I couldn't carry on without looking like the bad guy. How can I deal with thvse two guys?
